Hi, I’m Janice — Your Night Shift LPN Mentor & Storyteller
For just over a year now, I’ve worked the night shift as an LPN, caring for patients while the rest of the world sleeps. During those quiet hours on the unit, I learned more about nursing—real nursing—than textbooks ever could teach: trusting your instincts, managing chaos, communicating with compassion, and finding your confidence in the middle of exhaustion.
I created The Night Shift LPN Blog to help new and transitioning nurses navigate the challenges of patient care, charting, med passes, and all the emotional moments that come with this profession. Here, you’ll find honest stories, step-by-step tutorials, practical tips, and the support I wish I had when I first started.
My goal is simple:
To help you become a confident, capable, and organized nurse—one shift at a time.
Whether you’re stepping into your first job or switching to night shift, you’re not alone. You have a teammate here.
Embracing the night shift has taught me resilience and compassion.
